- : I seem to be experiencing some shadow problems. I am using traced
- : shadows here. It's a shadow cast by a rounded (curve > patch type
- : object) fin onto a cyllinder.

- : If I kill all the smoothing, I still get this problem.

- : The fin is constructed with 10 long polygons on each side around a subtle
- : curve just like a wing on a jet. The error makes it look as though the
- : polygons aren't touching, that light is somehow showing through between
- : the polygons. The shadow is mostly okay except for the edge closest to
- : the camera.

- If you used patches, make sure that the edges share points and the points
- are merged. Check for single and two point polys, and above all, make
- sure you have no non-planar polys.
